THE PERFECT IMAGE

As an interior designer, I’m always on the lookout for the right artwork for a project. Sometimes I have the leeway to choose what I like best and sometimes I simply need to meet specific client requirements. Either way, finding the perfect image is the challenge.

During some of my early commercial jobs, my framers and I became very good buddies. I would visit them with a specific vision in mind and ask what options they might have. They’d pull out massive catalogs and we’d drag the chairs around a table and go to town: “No, not this one,” “Yes, just like this but I need it landscape,” “Love this one—do they have a series?”

Those catalogs were a godsend—they brought an entire world of professional artists right into my project. Put out by international art publishing houses, I remember seeing their names on the front covers: Bentley, Sundance, Winn Devon.

In many ways, international art publishing houses are what make the world of commercial art go round. They are the vital link between the artist all kinds of markets, ranging from individual interior designers to major manufacturers. Where do the images come from for the calendar someone buys at Target? What about the artwork come for a big hospitality project in Miami? The series of prints hanging in that gleaming glass lobby? The illustration on the front of that greeting card? They all come from the major international art publishers.

Top-notch artists are distributed across the world through these publishers, their work instantly in front of countless buyers. It’s fantastic exposure and an honor to have your work published by them. As a photographic artist primarily focused on creating pieces for interior design applications, distribution through a publisher particularly fits my mission.

EXCLUSIVE COLLECTION WITH WINN DEVON

So, several months ago I was tickled to learn that Winn Devon, one of the largest art publishers in the world, had reached out to my assistant. Apparently they’d seen my work and wanted to establish a relationship. We followed up with them and found they hoped to publish an exclusive collection of my photographs and to include me as one of their featured artists.

FULL CIRCLE

While I’ve been featured many places and my work has appeared across the country, this partnership in particular is special to me. From my days as a designer sitting around the table flipping through Winn Devon catalogs, to now being published by them, I feel like I’ve come full circle.  And, in a way, feel that as an artist I’ve connected the dots with my roots as a designer.

Humbled, pleased and honored, I’m proud to announce that I’m now a featured Winn Devon artist. I invite you to view my new Winn Devon artist profile or my regular galleries to see more of my work.
